A tote bag and poster campaign created to educate people about problems with fast
food and to promote healthier eating. We live in a "toxic food environment." There is
an abundance of unhealthy, heavily advertised, low-cost food available.
The rise in fast food restaurants parallels the rise in obesity, and obesity is the
second highest cause of preventable death in the country. Over 325,000 deaths in the US
are caused by obesity each year. Despite this, one in four Americans visits a fast food
restaurant every day, and french fries are the most-eaten vegetable in America. While
fast food restaurants are slowly changing their menus to include healthier options
and nutrition information, Americans need to change their eating habits. That could
mean preparing more meals at home or eating at better quality places.
